Academic writing course is a critical and an essential element in the syllabus designed for especially graduating and postgraduating students particularly those who are new to the conventions of academic writing. It sets out to help these students with their written assignments which most of the time considered very demanding and challenging. Student’s worries are often raised because of their inability to adequately choose vocabulary of academic English, adhere to new conventions of style, report on others’ works, and so and so for. Hence, via this course students will explore different genres of academic writing and how these reflect different rhetorical purposes.
